About Dowsing:
The practice of dowsing is thought to have originated in Germany during the 15 century. People have used dowsing to find water, treasure, metals, people and to get answers to questions. Dowsing is most often done by using pendulums, rods and sticks.
The dowsing apparatus in itself has no power of its own. The individual holding the rod may involuntarily twitch or move their hand in a certain manner causing the rod to swing a certain way. This movement will indicate a yes or no response, depending on the question asked. This is often referred to as the ideomotor effect. The ideomotor effect is basically a psychological phenomena where the individual makes an involuntary motion. This motion is an unconscious reaction. Skeptical onlookers may say, “I saw you move your hand to the left.” The individuals dowsing may have even seen it happen but did not consciously choose to make a motion. The unconscious mind can influence one's body and thus take action. This can be seen as omniscient (all-knowing) mind being expressed or subconscious knowledge or perception. Getting out of one's own way and allowing the answer to come through and allowing the dowsing stick to indicate your answer is key. To be successful it is best to divorce yourself from the outcome and the answer that you are trying to get. Hoping or wanting an answer to be a certain way will tend to influence the results and lead to an inaccurate answers.
Note: Each of our rods comes with calibration steps and instructions on how to use the dowsing rod.
